Junior Team of the Week (Round 2)Finally our young stars were able to get on the park and strut their stuff after some average weather.
The team for the second round of matches is: Tyler Voulanas (c): What an amazing first game for the club in our u/16 side! Opened the batting a scored a flawless century to guide his team to a very imposing total of 375. Amazing achievement Tyler, Well Done. Jay Wagner: Tyler's opening partner was also a standout. Jay shared in a 100 runs partnership at better than a run a ball. He hit 59 in a great performance. Tess Flintoff: The super talented cricketer was at her best in the u/14's match against Johnson Park. She smashed a quick 50 not out and rolled her arm over for a wicket. Just the start of things to come from Tess. Josh Shelly: Continued his good form from the first game and retired not out on 21. The u/12's look to have a good little side and we can expect to see more of them filling these spots in the weeks to come. Raunak Sharma: Smashing 6 fours in a fantastic innings was only the beginning for Raunak as he bowled very well and clean bowling the oppositions best player. finished with 30 retired and 1 wicket in the u/13's. Bailey Deckert: Was another of the strong performers from the u/16's hitting his highest ever score of 45. Well done Bailey great to see so many personal bests this week! Ishan Goonetilleke: Backed up his 28* in the first match with another superb effort hitting an unbeaten half century. Took a wicket also and looks to be much improved. Spencer Stuckey: The exciting gun junior surprisingly wasn't required with the stick but bowled fantastically well for his side taking 2/15 from his 7 overs helping his side roll the opposition. Olivia Thomas: One of the best players of the round Olivia also hit her highest score of 31 and backed that effort up with the ball taking 2/3 off her 2 overs. Andrew Trifilo: Smashed a fantastic score of 30 runs in the u/13's match and looks like another player on the rise this season. Corey Bourke: A standout player in the u/12's this week. Hit a very impressive 38 including 6 fours and remarkably 2 fives! 12th man Ben Marget: Really unlucky to not be in the starting 11 again but it was a round that saw so many personal bests and was hard to squeeze all these superstars into just one team. Hit 50 retired including 3 sixes. Sure to be in the starting team again at some stage. ![]() |
